2. Proper Twelve is a home tracker well placed to win again fourth-up back on dry ground and down in class. Weakened on the heavy deck here before fighting on OK from the front in a deeper CL2 at Tamworth when rising to this trip. Well treated down 1kg for a drop in quality and in a race devoid of speed he can roll forward and stick on strong over the final part. 1. Media Spin is also trained on the course and a clear threat coming off a fourth-up maiden win here. 4. Sammaan City can peak third-up over a furlong further. 7. Jenni La Rock is an honest and fit mare stepping up in trip. 5. Snow Dog is well over the odds with winkers back on; while 10. Share Our Secret back from provincial opposition goes in wider exotics.

5. Mi Piace is a debutant mare by proven sprint sire Cosmic Force that finally arrives on race day. Was put away after a trial win in early autumn before returning with an even more dominant trial win at Bathurst in heavy going. Has shown she can get through all conditions, boasts a high cruising speed and, with the spacious track offsetting a wide draw, can open her career in style. 10. Mazort can progress after charging home to beat all but the winner when resuming, and key gear changes have been made. 4. Fabulous One is a big market watch, having not been seen since a poor debut on the synthetic in Victoria more than a year ago. Now stabled at Scone, and stretched out nicely to win a Tamworth trial a month ago. 3. Cooly Rocks is a former Queensland mare and another key betting watch, resuming off a very long break and quiet trial for the new Central West stable. Locally trained duo 2. Knights Templar, a four-year-old having his first start at big odds, and 9. Tucklan, second-up with blinkers going on, can add plenty of value into exotic plays.

Race 3
3. Peerless Son is an improver tracking to hit peak fitness, and peak fourth-up. Only held his ground in two runs at home against smarter opposition over a shorter trip before missing by a long neck when finishing well in a handy Super Maiden. Drops 1.5kg for this with the top country jockey taking over and a shade more ground and bigger track are both pluses. 1. Spicy Sunrise returns for his first outing in 40 weeks. Drawn wide, but has enough tactical speed to slot inand was placed in three from four against deeper opposition across the initial campaign late last year. 2. Kojak also draws wide, but is very honest having run four consecutive placings in Queensland through winter when well in the market. 10. Miners Mate has been in and around the money in four runs this prep, although also has a tricky gate; while improving mare 13. Long Time Lovers can run well above her long price.

Race 4
9. Deodee is a sparingly raced mare that maps to strike deep into the current campaign at good odds, and dropping in grade. Came off a break to hit the line in a BM 58 here before being ridden in front and sticking on for a long way at Bathurst. Then was swamped late after doing too much work from a wide draw at Narromine a fortnight back. Drawn to get a more economical run on or near the speed and gets his chance in a weaker grade to claim a second win. 2. Mrs Bull is a tough local mare that continues to put in. Only a couple of lengths away in her last three, and four of her five career wins have come here. 7. Miss Karis is an each-way chance on an eight-day back-up, despite drawing wide. Hard fit, and did her best work late in a handy BM 58 at Mudgee. 8. Take The Chance and 10. Leica Queen can both figure in the money, while 4. Gold Smiles drawn low is the best of the rest.

Race 5
4. The Contractor is an underrated five-year-old that can return for his first run since late autumn with a bang. Was always in the money last prep up to deeper CL2 level and pushed out to 1400m; including running the smart Girrawheen to a length. Hasn’t publicly trialled, but comes to hand sharply and has enough tactical speed to slot in from a wide gate. Only one win from 13 starts but placed a further seven times when often without luck and relishes dry ground. 1. Denman Force comes back in grade second-up, but has to carry a big weight. 5. Race To Arms is a lightly raced local suited coming back to the shorter trip. 6. Sorrento Palace draws the inside and also comes back from some deeper races. 11. Puffin reloads after a dominant barrier-to-box first-up maiden win; while 10. Imastatement can improve sharply second-up.

Race 6
3. Heapy’s Legacy is progressive and can make it two wins from his last three, coming back in grade and deep into the campaign. Swept home to beat similar opposition at Quirindi before rising to a BM 66 and again powering home to get close to the placegetters. Will relish getting on to a bigger circuit here against thinner opposition and can settle back before being taken to the outside from the 400m. 5. Lone Star Dream is a serious threat having placed in three of his last four and is tough and versatile hitting the line from either near the speed or from well back. Provincial stable has made a string of gear changes, and he’s drawn to get an economical run 1. Godwits is trained on the course and drawn to get a soft run. 2. It Is To Be is very fit, and was placed in much tougher grade last start. 7. Questionable rises in grade fourth-up. 6. Major Lightning gets an important gear change, and 8. Regalade can improve over a much longer journey.

5. Crook is a tough and honest home-track mare that can claim a fifth career win at just her 14th start. Has placed in four or her last five, only missing by a neck in a BM 68 at Hawkesbury three starts back. Then chased hard from midfield against metropolitan opposition before stiff not to win the Cup Sprint Prelude here when missing by a head after being backed from $3.20 into $2.70. Given four weeks between runs, has early tactical speed and handles all conditions. 1. Crusader Kings is the clear threat resuming off a dominant trial win and likely to jump a short-priced favourite. 3. Wave Breaker is a sparingly raced mare that hit the line hard in the that same Prelude race here as the top selection and is drawn to get cover. 2. Zarizatycoon is a big market watch resuming for a smart country stable behind a trial win, and boasts a 50 per cent winning strike rate from 10 starts. 7. Live To Rise resumed with a tough CL3 win; while 6. Capital Mac, drawn well and trained on the course, is capable of sneaking into the money at big odds.
