What a statement out of the gates.
It took just 29 seconds for the Lions to kickstart their revival after last week’s freefall, as Kai Lohmann’s strike launched a flurry of five unanswered goals in less than eight minutes.
While things then tapered off slightly, with Adelaide getting back into the fight and finally getting on the board through Daniel Curtin and Luke Nankervis, this has been an emphatic Lions quarter.
But the hosts need to keep the pressure on. At one stage, they led the inside-50 count 10 to zero, only for it to finish at 18-11 at the break.
They can’t afford to get complacent after a week in which their defensive pressure was slammed – particularly after missed set shots from Eric Hipwood, Harris Andrews and Ryan Lester cost them the chance to send the Crows to the interval looking for a hole to dig in to.

The Lions were untouchable that term, kicking five goals in the first seven minutes, but the Crows have found more of the footy in the closing stages of opening quarter.
