A HUGE shark in at a crazy golf course has sparked outrage after residents moaned it is a “symbol of slaughter and destruction”.
The whopping 30ft long plastic shark – that hangs from a gallows in a mini golf course – is now at the centre of a planning row.

Brighton seafront became the fibreglass beast’s new habitat in August last year when it became a nautical feature of Rumble Jungle crazy golf course.
But now its home is threatened as residents in the Green city are up in arms complaining it’s giving sharks a bad name.
Jungle Rumble Adventure Golf applied for retrospective planning permission earlier this month, but an objection has been submitted hoping to scupper the attraction’s centrepiece.
The nimby complaint worried it represented sharks as criminals because it is being hung at a gallows.

It said: “It is ugly but also very offensive to have a marine animal being depicted as a criminal having been slaughtered for no reason.
“Sharks are a vital form of marine life and should be protected if we are to regain healthy seas which can help mend our planet.
“There is the most amazing story of our sea rewilding and returning huge amounts of different species.
“It therefore feels completely inappropriate to have a symbol of slaughter and destruction in a children’s play area such as mini golf.

“We need to educate our kids to protect and fight to preserve our wildernesses and seas.
“Not to hunt and destroy such a vital species in our ecosystem.”
Haters jumped to comment online, one said: “Not very nice for the amount of vegeritians we have living in Brighton & Hove, im a meat eater, and I find it Repulsive.”
Another said: “The shark is a revolting grisly thing, celebrating the torture of a creature on a rack is vile and not a good look at all.”
But some locals are defending the shark, one said: “Wow, what a fuss over nothing.
“Bigger fish to fry in Brighton than this.”
A heritage assessment notes the shark is “clearly visible” from the beach, Madeira Drive and Madeira Terrace.
But it found that as Brighton seafront has historically hosted activities like mini golf, the new addition fits well with the area.
It said: “The works are therefore considered to represent contemporary additions associated with the established recreational use of this part of Brighton’s lower seafront without detracting from the significance of the East Cliff Conservation Area or the setting and significance of nearby designated heritage assets.”

The plans also passed biodiversity checks because it’s within an existing site so has no substantial environmental impact.
Brighton & Hove City Council will decide on the application at a later date.
