Trust was in short supply on The Traitors Ireland on Monday night, as conflicting stories, old clues and shifting suspicions led to one of the most dramatic Round Tables yet.
Here are five key moments from episode eight.

Seán C leaves a warning behind
The players learned at breakfast that Seán C had been murdered, but he had left Ian with one final suspicion before his departure.
“It’s Carla. Go get her,” he told him.
Ian was already questioning Carla after Aoife wrote her name at the Round Table before appearing to tap her slate and lock eyes with him.
As Carla came into the new day with “fire in her belly”, Ian felt she was beginning to “scramble”.
Donal also became suspicious after believing he had heard different versions of Carla’s thinking from Kayleigh and Carla herself.
For newly recruited Traitor Pauric O, the growing attention on his partner was becoming a problem.
“Whatever heat she’s brought on herself, that’s out of my control,” he said.
“But I will try my best to take the heat off her.”
Pete gets the shield
The players were blindfolded and taken to a hay shed, where they found themselves handcuffed beneath voodoo dolls bearing their names.
They had to retrieve keys using magnets, free themselves and stab a doll to collect money, with the final untouched doll earning its player a shield.
Pete suggested everyone stab their own doll, avoiding the need to turn on somebody else.
The group ultimately left Pete’s doll untouched, giving him protection from murder.
But not everyone was convinced by the decision.
Janet questioned why they were protecting somebody without knowing he was a Faithful, while Kayleigh asked: “Why does he deserve it?”
Donal and Kayleigh clash
At the Round Table, the previous day’s shield controversy was quickly overtaken by a row between Donal and Kayleigh.
Donal said Kayleigh had told him Carla was looking at himself and Anna.
Kayleigh disputed his version, insisting she had simply told Donal that Carla wanted to speak to them before asking who he believed Aoife might have recruited.
“You are literally on television lying,” Donal told her.
Kayleigh insisted she was telling the truth and warned that banishing her would create “another David moment”.
Pauric stepped into the disagreement, saying he had believed both were Faithfuls but now could not work out which of them was telling the truth.
Then attention returned to Carla.
Janet questioned whether Aoife’s final vote had been an attempt to expose an original Traitor, while Ian told the group about Aoife tapping her slate and locking eyes with him.
Carla survives by the narrowest margin
The first vote ended in a three-way tie between Carla, Donal and Kayleigh.
A second vote still failed to settle things, leaving Carla and Donal tied and forcing the group to vote again.
Ian and Janet continued to vote for Carla, but the balance eventually shifted towards Donal.
Pauric also voted for Donal, saving his fellow Traitor.
An emotional Donal then revealed he had been a Faithful all along.
“I am and I have always been a Faithful,” he told the group.
Pauric later admitted the decision had come down to keeping Carla in the game or eliminating someone he believed may never have suspected him.
“I had to play the game, and I had to get rid of him,” he said.
Janet is marked for murder
The night ended with another twist when Pauric received instructions that the Traitors had to murder in plain sight.
One Faithful had to be marked by holding their hand and saying: “Goodnight, and thanks for the dance.”
The victim would return to breakfast as a “changeling” before meeting their fate during the following day’s mission.
After secretly consulting Carla, Pauric found his opportunity with Janet.
She had just told him she was convinced he was a Faithful.
“I 100% believe you’re a Faithful,” she said.
Pauric admitted he felt like “such a manipulator” before taking her hand and delivering the required phrase.
Janet immediately responded: “What? Did you murder me?”
Whether she had genuinely realised what had happened or was simply joking, Janet had been marked.
