Woman ‘seriously sexually assaulted’ while walking her dog in ‘terrifying’ attack – as cops launch manhunt

COPS have launched a manhunt after a woman was allegedly seriously sexually assaulted near a popular park.

The victim had been walking her dog when she was said to have been targeted during the “terrifying” attack.

She was reportedly targeted near a playpark at around 10pm on September 8.

The attacker approached her, before seriously sexually assaulting her and then fleeing the area, cops said.

He is described as being white and around 5ft 9in tall and is believed to have been wearing a black beanie during the horror.

Police Scotland has urged anyone with more information on the attack, which occurred in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, to come forward.

“Incidents of this nature can understandably cause concern.

“We’ll have additional patrols in the area to provide reassurance as we continue our enquiries.”
