Raheem Sterling has pleaded guilty to driving his SUV dangerously on some of the UK’s busiest roads shortly before crashing.

The former Three Lions footballer admitted being behind the wheel of his luxury car and driving dangerously on the M25, M3, A327 and Mindley Road before smashing it on May 28.

The 31-year-old former England player appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court today.

He also admitted possession of six cans of nitrous oxide canisters for inhalation, also known as laughing gas.

The athlete admitted to possessing a class C drug and failing to provide a specimen.

Sterling was dressed in a black suit, matching trousers, black shoes and a dark top at the hearing in Hampshire.

Footage shared by the police shows a black £270,000 Lamborghini veering across lanes on the busy motorway.

Without indicating or pausing, the car crosses all three lanes in one sweep, including on approach to an entry slip road.

It glides just inches from the central reservation before driving on between lanes as traffic tries to steer clear.

No one was injured in the crash and no other vehicles were involved, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed.

Eyewitnesses to the crash said they saw the car flow four feet into the air and spin 180 degrees after the collision, which happened on the M3 southbound near Minley Interchange.

The motorist said the Lamborghini nearly crashed into their car when going past Sterling, prompting a beep from the driver.

‘As I’m looking at him I don’t even think he could hear me beeping,’ the motorist told The Sun previously.

They said the driver of the luxury car ‘didn’t even acknowledge me beeping.’

Sterling, who hails from Kingston, Jamaica, kicked off his career with Manchester City in 2015.

He went on to celebrate four Premier League wins, five League Cups plus the 2019 FA Cup victory.

The dad-of-four left City to join Chelsea in 2022, but ended up leaving his £325,000 a week contract earlier this year and he was loaned to Arsenal for his final season.
