The driver of the van was rushed to Tipperary University Hospital Clonmel for treatment of serious injuries
Gardaí are investigating the death of a man in his 60s in a four-vehicle crash in Cashel, Co Tipperary yesterday.
They are appealing for witnesses following the collision involving a van and three cars, that occurred at approximately 5.40pm on the R688 at Cooper’s Lot.
The man in his 60s who was driving one of the cars was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was brought to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford where a postmortem examination is due to take place. The coroner has also been notified.
The driver of the van, who is aged in his 40s, was rushed to Tipperary University Hospital Clonmel for treatment of what are described as “serious injuries”.
No other injuries were reported at the time.
The road is currently closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
Road users who were travelling in the area of Cooper’s Lot, Cashel, Co Tipperary between 5pm and 6pm and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.
