A Kerry company has applied for planning permission to convert a retail unit into a community café next to the Tralee-Fenit greenway.
Tralee Community Development Project has made a bid to convert a vacant shop unit, formerly Allstyle Baths N’ Tiles, into a café.
The roughly 154 square metres sit sits on the corner where the Tralee-Fenit greenway crosses Upper Rock Road.
The owner of Allstyle Baths N’ Tiles, Michael O’Callaghan has given his permission for the Tralee company to make the application.
“The proposed works are intended to support the development of a community Café and laundry facility, a project aimed at fostering community engagement, supporting older people and providing a welcoming space for local residents,” wrote Mr O’Callaghan.
It’s proximity to the greenway may make it an attractive stop during an outdoor excursion.
Tralee Community Development Project is a limited company that was incorporated in 1996.
It aims to foster community growth and engagement through initiatives that enhance local life, promote social inclusion, and support sustainable development in Tralee.
