Jodie Ramsey’s (Olivia Frances-Brown) only goal in Coronation Street right now is to convince Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) that she isn’t being a good mum to baby Harper – and it appears to be working.

Yesterday, the character recognised that Shona was exhausted and decided to take advantage. She waited until Shona was asleep on the sofa, and then placed a cake in the oven and turned the temperature up.

With the fire alarm switched off, Shona failed to realise the house was filling up with smoke.

David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), Jodie and Doug (Jodie and Shona’s dad) were horrified when they returned home. As Jodie got to work checking on baby Harper and taking the burnt cake out of the oven, David comforted Shona.

Shona was certain that she took the cake out of the oven, but also acknowledged how tired she had felt recently, and wasn’t quite sure if she could trust her own mind.

That evening, Jodie took pleasure in supporting David, who was beginning to worry about his wife.

Jodie’s efforts to destroy her sister continued in today’s episode, and it involved a very dark and low move from her.

As Shona prepared a bath for baby Harper, she failed to spot Jodie pouring boiling water into the tub.

Jodie quickly knocked on the kitchen window to get David’s attention. When he entered, Jodie told him that she could see steam coming from Harper’s bath water.

David checked, and got a huge shock when he realised just how hot the water was.

Under the impression she came very close to causing her daughter serious injuries, poor Shona was devastated.

Meanwhile, thrilled with how things were unfolding, Jodie was in the pub talking to Gemma Winter-Brown (Dolly-Rose Campbell). When Gemma began speaking about the PND she experienced after giving birth to her quads, Jodie’s mind started to wander.

That evening, Jodie was left alone with baby Harper. Setting an app up on her phone, Jodie pulled Harper’s dummy out of her mouth, and recorded the sound of her cries.
