Prime members get the best deal, with four months free – that’s worth up to £48 at the standing £11.99/month subscription rate.

Non-Prime shoppers don’t miss out entirely, though, as they can still get three months free before their subscription reverts to the £12.99/month fee (£1 more than for Prime members).

Either way, there’s no upfront cost, and no card details are needed beyond the usual Amazon checkout step.

The offer is open to new and lapsed subscribers rather than anyone already on a paid plan.

The service has tens of millions of songs and podcasts available to listen to ad-free, and tracks can be downloaded for offline listening.
