Girl ‘sexually assaulted’ in broad daylight attack in city centre as cops release CCTV in hunt for man

A GIRL has allegedly been sexually assaulted in a horror broad daylight attack in a busy city centre.

Cops have released CCTV as part of a manhunt after the victim was reportedly attacked in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

South Yorkshire Police said: “We are releasing a CCTV image of a man we would like to speak to in connection of a reported sexual assault in Sheffield city centre.

“On 30 July, around 1.15pm, it is reported that a man sexually assaulted a girl while she was walking down Fargate in the city centre.

“It was further reported that the man walked away after.

“The incident was quickly reported to us and an investigation was launched.

“The victim is receiving support through our officers and appropriate services.

“Officers have conducted several lines of enquiry, including trawling through nearby CCTV, and are now releasing the image of this man as it is believed he may hold vital information for their investigation.”
