A VILE creep who sexually assaulted five young girls by sniffing and touching their feet has been jailed after a three-year manhunt.

Alexander Scott-Bowen, 24, accosted girls in the street to indulge his bizarre sexual fetish before cops eventually tracked him down.

He was sentenced to 38 weeks in prison for seven counts of sexual assault between 2022 and 2026 at Bristol Crown Court on Friday.

Police launched an initial investigation in 2022, after receiving reports of a man approaching three young girls and sniffing their feet in January, March and May.

Despite a media appeal – including the release of a computer-generated portrait – and the identification of potential suspects, there was insufficient evidence to charge anyone.

The case was filed pending further reports or testimonies.

But in March 2025, police received two more reports from young girls who’d been stopped in Kingswood under similar circumstances.

A second investigation was launched and the new suspect was identified as Scott-Bowen, who was subsequently linked to the 2022 assaults.

This led to his arrest on March 11, where he was interviewed and bailed as officers carried out further enquiries.

While in bail, Scott-Bowen struck again in Cribbs Causeway on New Year’s Eve after he approached two girls.

The creep also accosted a woman in Stoke Gifford on January 21 this year with a similar request.

Cops arrested him three days after receiving the disturbing reports and the Crown Prosecution Service granted seven charges of sexual assault against the victims.

In all cases, Scott-Bowen would engage his victims in harmless conversation, comment on their shoes, before quickly grabbing their foot and sniffing it.

Cops initially suspected him of the 2022 incidents in Yates as he lived in the area at the time and his clothes matched one of the victim’s descriptions – but could not say so conclusively.

However, following his arrest in 2025, his DNA was obtained and found on the shoelace of one of the 2022 victims.

He was then linked to one of the 2025 incidents after a victim positively identified him as the attacker.

Following his arrest for the third and final time in January 2026, his mobile phone was seized and cops discovering material suggestive of a foot fetish.

He was brought before the court on July 6 this year where he pleaded guilty to all seven counts of assault.

Since he has been on remand since January this year, the pervert is now roaming free as the custody period has been served.

A 10-year-long Sexual Harm Prevention Order was also granted and he has been added to the Sex Offenders Register for the next 10 years.

Det Sgt Mike Coleman said: “These attacks caused considerable distress to the victims and the wider community and we are pleased Scott-Bowen has been sentenced for these crimes.

“Throughout this investigation, we were clear in our mindset to view these incidents for what they really were – a series of sexual attacks against predominantly young girls.

“Scott-Bowen carried out his offending over a long period of time and was not even deterred by being arrested and released with bail conditions, as he went on to commit further offences.

“In pleading guilty in the face of the substantial evidence presented, he has accepted that his motives for all these attacks was his own sexual gratification.

“We want to thank and recognise the brave victims who came forward, especially those from the 2022 incident who all positively re-engage when we contact them to inform them their cases were being re-opened.”
