Road closures, resurfacing works and traffic management measures are set to affect routes across Wicklow this week, including overnight M11 closures, roadworks in Carnew, Kilmacanogue and Timmore, and ongoing closures in Delgany and Roundwood.

The M11 southbound will be subject to overnight closures from Monday to Friday nights until Friday, November 13, to facilitate resurfacing works.

Phase one will see the M11 southbound closed from Junction 13 to Junction 16, while phase two will see the motorway closed from Junction 16 to Junction 18. The closures will be in place from 9pm to 6am, with intermediate junctions closed as required and local access maintained where necessary.

For the phase one closure, traffic will exit the M11 southbound at Junction 13 before being diverted via the L5050, R761 and R772 to rejoin the M11 southbound at Junction 16.

For phase two, traffic will exit the M11 southbound at Junction 16 before following the R772 to rejoin the M11 southbound at Junction 18.

In the Baltinglass Municipal District, road surfacing works are taking place on the L3218 Carnew Road at Coolboy, Carnew, from Wednesday, September 9, to Tuesday, September 15.

The works are taking place from 8am to 7pm and are expected to take four days to complete, depending on weather conditions. The road will be closed, with traffic management in place throughout the works and local access provided.

In the Bray Municipal District, works will take place on the L-50293 Rockfield Park Road in Kilmacanogue from Monday, September 14, to Friday, September 18.

Traffic management will be in place from 9.30am to 5pm on the R756 Enniskerry/Roundwood Road and L-50293 Rockfield Park.

In the Greystones Municipal District, temporary road closures will be in place on the L-5400 Timmore Lane from Tuesday, September 15, to Friday, September 18, to facilitate resurfacing works.

The closures will be in place from 9.30am to 6pm between the R772 junction at Abwood and the L5064 Tiglin junction, with local access provided.

The phase one closure on Chapel Road in Delgany also remains in place as part of the Chapel Road Pedestrian and Cyclist Infrastructure Improvement Scheme.

The closure, from the junction of Beechbrook Park to the junction of Chapel Road and Blacklion Manor Road, runs from Friday, July 31, to Wednesday, September 30.

A separate phase two closure, covering the section from the junction of Beechbrook Park to the junction of Chapel Road and Dromont, has been in place since Monday, May 18, and is also due to remain in place until Wednesday, September 30.

In the Wicklow Municipal District, the L-1059 and L-1060 in Roundwood remain subject to temporary closures until Friday, October 9, to facilitate the installation of a new watermain by Uisce Éireann.

Wicklow County Council said both roads will not be closed at the same time. The council said the diversion for the L-1059 closure will use the L-1059, L-5057 and L-5056, while the diversion for the L-1060 closure will use the L-1059 and R755. Traffic management will also be in place.
