A host of former Premier League and international football stars descended on Drogheda on Saturday for a special charity event in aid of the Irish Sepsis Foundation.
Former Manchester United stars Jaap Stam, Wes Brown and Brian McClair were among the big names who took part in the Legends XI for Sepsis event at CUPRA Park.
They were joined by former Republic of Ireland internationals Stephen Carr and Ian Harte as well as Jermaine Beckford, Yakubu, Stiliyan Petrov, Keith Gillespie, Jermaine Pennant and Andy Couzens.
The event brought together former Premier League and Champions League winners and international players for an afternoon of football while raising funds and awareness for the Irish Sepsis Foundation.
Ahead of the 3pm kick-off at CUPRA Park, football fans also had an opportunity to get up close to some of their heroes at a special meet and greet at The Pheasant Bar & Grill.
Wes Brown, Jermaine Beckford, Jermaine Pennant and Stephen Carr were among those taking part in the event, where supporters could meet the former players, pose for photographs and get autographs.
Fans also had the opportunity to hear stories from the players’ careers at the highest level of English and international football.
The meet and greet ran from noon until 1.30pm before attention turned to CUPRA Park for the charity match.
Proceeds from the day’s events went towards the Irish Sepsis Foundation, which organised the fundraiser.
