More than 1,800 homes, farms and businesses in West Limerick can now access high-speed fibre broadband.
National Broadband Ireland (NBI) has confirmed that 1,815 premises in Newcastle West, Monagea and Broadford are now ready to connect through the National Broadband Plan.
A further 803 premises in Loughill and Glensharrold are due to become eligible for the service.
The latest rollout comes as work continues to extend the fibre network across rural Limerick.
More than 19,700 premises across the county can now access the network, with 6,960 connections made to date.
Works have also been completed in other rural areas including Abbeyfeale and Charleville.
Around 22,000 Limerick premises are included in the State’s intervention area, with €84m in Government funding allocated to the county.
NBI chief executive TJ Malone said: “We are delighted to announce that over 1,800 Limerick homes, businesses and farms near Newcastle West can now connect to NBI’s high-speed fibre broadband infrastructure, with a connection on the way for a further 800 premises.”
