A MAJOR motorway has ground to a halt after a vehicle caught fire, leading to four mile tailbacks.
Emergency services rushed to the M25 in Surrey between J10 at Wisley and J11 at Chertsey.
The road was cordoned off while rescue teams dealt with the incident.
Motorists should expect delays of 30 minutes on the approach, National Highways stated.
Queues are reportedly stretching back to Cobham Services.
Live shots show the traffic at a standstill on the clockwise route.
Traffic monitoring site Inrix announced in an update at 11.30am that the M25 clockwise was blocked due to a car fire.
In an update at 11.45am they shared that traffic had been released but warned of continued “long delays”.
In an update at 11.55am on X, National Highways said: “M25 clockwise in Surrey between J10 (Cobham) & J11 (Chertsey).
“Lanes 1 & 2 (of 4) remain closed for vehicle recovery & to assess road surface damage.
