An inquiry into the murder of a Catholic man kicked to death by a loyalist mob in Co Armagh in 1997 has found that four RUC officers in a vehicle parked nearby did not collude with the attackers and could not have prevented the assault.
However, the inquiry into the murder of father of three Robert Hamill in Portadown town centre said there were multiple police failings in the investigation, including a tip off to a suspect to destroy the clothing he wore that night.
No one has ever been convicted of the murder.
