Duckling volunteers: WA wildlife call out for seasonal volunteers to help care for 900 ducklings

WA wildlife is looking for volunteers to join its seasonal duckling team, helping take care of the 900 ducklings the organisation looks after during the spring and summer months.

With the duckling season underway, the organisation says it needs as much help as it can get to care for the influx of young birds.

Volunteers will get stuck in with a range of hands-on tasks, including cleaning enclosures, preparing food and feeding the ducklings.

No previous experience is required, with on-the-job training provided.

The organisation is asking volunteers to commit to three hours a week or fortnight, for a period of three to six months.

Shifts are available every day of the week, either from 10am for two to three hours or from 5pm for two to three hours. The shifts will take place at the WA Wildlife Hospital within the Cockburn Wetlands Precinct.

Volunteers must be aged 18 or over.
