COLEEN Rooney has said that people are ‘too quick to give up’ on marriage these days.

The iconic WAG has reflected on saving her scandal-hit marriage to husband Wayne Rooney in a new interview.

Coleen, 40, and her ex-pro footballer husband, also 40, will soon open up in an all new Disney+ series.

Ahead of the 10-episode fly-on-the-wall docuseries, which will drop on September 24, Coleen has chatted about her marriage to OK! magazine.

Speaking to the outlet, Coleen said: “The main thing is love is always been there.

“People are too quick to give up on working at things, too vocal in the moment and saying ‘right that’s enough’.

“What we’ve done is actually talked and tried to work things out.“

She went on: “We still love each other, we’ve still got a connection, we’ve still got feelings.

“We’ve done well, I think. And the biggest thing we’ve done well is actually dealing with our relationship with the world looking in on us.

“People have been so vocal about our marriage and we’ve dealt with it behind closed doors.”

The couple didn’t confess to having the secret to the perfect relationship though.

Wayne admitted that he is sure they will face other hurdles going forward.

He said: “Are we going to have tough moments in the future? Of course, every married couple has that.

“But I think most importantly when you sit down and look back, we’ve had great moments and we’ve still got so much of our life to live together with our children, hopefully with their children, and us as grandparents as well.”

Coleen and Wayne began dating when they were teenagers, and got engaged at the age of 17, before going on to get married in 2008.

But during their long romance, they have been plagued by some headline-grabbing scandals.

The first scandal between the pair occurred in 2002, when the couple were just 16.

Wayne hit the headlines after he went to brothel and slept with a prostitute.

For over two decades Coleen kept complexly quiet on the matter.

However, in 2023, she broke her silence in her autobiography, My Account, where she recalled the painful moment that he confessed to cheating.

She even opened up about feeling “hurt and shame” over her husband Wayne sleeping with a prostitute.

During Coleen’s time on I’m A Celebrity in 2024, she surprised fans when she lifted the lid on her marriage to Wayne and his “mistakes”.

The couple share four sons – Kai, 16, Klay, 12, Kit, ten, and Cass, eight, together.

And despite their ups and downs over the years, Coleen has previously opened up about why she and Wayne will “never give up” on their marriage.

She told Vogue in 2023: “It’s been a battle at times. I look at (any) situation we’re in and think, ‘Could we move forward from that? Is it worth moving forward from that?’ I don’t just give up.”

Speaking specifically about cheating claims, Coleen candidly said: “We’ve never backed away from it.

“We own it. I remember having a conversation about this with someone and I said, ‘Well, do you know what your wife gets up to every day and night?’ At least I know what my husband’s doing!”

“It mightn’t be good, but I know. People lie to themselves.”
