Emergency services swarmed on the busy high street on Thursday afternoon, following reports of an “altercation”.
Witnesses described loud bangs and screams of horror as the altercation spilled into an alleyway in The Mall shopping centre.
Barber George Ioannou, who manages Antonio’s barber shop next to the fast food joint, said witnesses ran into his shop to seek safety.
The 26-year-old told The Sun: “A woman came in crying and saying, ‘Lock the doors’.
“I locked the door. She was very upset. I believe it started inside KFC.

“The police have been in but only to see if I had been outside.”
A witness, who did not want to be named, said the altercation moved from the fast food chain to an alleyway of the Mall shopping centre.
Another witness wrote on X that there were “endless sirens”, adding a police drone had been flying around the area.
Police set up a cordon around part of Bromley High Street and a side road the attackers are thought to have used in a bid to flee the scene.
