An elderly woman who died following a two-car collision close to Macosquin on the outskirts of Coleraine, Co Derry has been named by police.
Maud Kerr (85), from the Macosquin area, died following a two-car collision on the Windyhill Road on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services, including the Air Ambulance with HEMS on board attended the crash.
The Windyhill Road was closed for a significant period as paramedics worked at the scene alongside the fire service.
One vehicle ended up in a ditch during the incident.
Detective Inspector Stewart, from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Collision Investigation Unit, said: “At approximately 12.30pm, we received a report of a two-vehicle collision on the Windyhill Road.
“Officers attended, alongside colleagues from other emergency services, but sadly Mrs Kerr died at the scene.
“A man, aged in his 80s remains in a stable condition in hospital.
“The Windyhill Road, which was closed for a time, has now fully reopened.
