WAYNE ROONEY appears to be facing his own version of the Wagatha Christie saga.

But while the former footie ace’s wife Coleen faced off with fellow Wag Rebekah Vardy, Wayne appears to be gearing up for a rather public war of words with his old England teammate Andy Carroll.

In his new autobiography, Owning It, Andy alleged Wayne would invite fellow players into his room while they were on Three Lions duties around 2010 and 2011 for a beer and a cigarette.

He wrote of Wayne: “He’d be surrounded by cartons of fags, crates of lager and bottles of wine (which he got the hotel manager to deliver to his room), and soon his room would be full of players. No one got smashed, it was just Wazza’s way of breaking the monotony with a couple of drinks.”

But Wayne was not impressed and issued a pretty punchy statement last night, saying: “I don’t normally comment on falsehoods written about me — but I will address this one.

“Andy knows that he and I never really socialised. I bumped into him once, coincidentally, while on a holiday — but that’s about it.

Rooney fears Carrick faces Man Utd sack and reveals why Fernandes needs help

“As for this ‘tale’ about me drinking on England duty, it’s a fabrication. I don’t know where the story comes from. It’s disappointing.”

But now Andy has hit back and has told pals he is puzzled that Wayne has claimed the story is made up.

A friend told me: “Andy is beyond baffled by the suggestion that he invented a story.

“He has no reason to make something like this up and stands by every word of his account.

Misteeq red-hot reunion

IT was a nostalgia overload as Mis-Teeq smashed their anniversary reunion show at the on Saturday night.

In matching red outfits Alesha Dixon, Su-Elise Nash and Sabrina Washington smashed through their string of hits at Ovo Arena Wembley.

And they surprised hardcore fans by bringing their old bandmate Zena McNally to perform Why during the sold-out show.

Alesha and Co’s brilliant set was like a walk down memory lane, with the trio kicking off the performance with 2001 hit One Night Stand before singing Dance Your Cares Away, That Type Of Girl and Can’t Get It Back.

It was the encore that brought the house down, though, with 2003’s Scandalous starting a crowd singalong which made me long for a full-blown return for the group.

Please ladies, make it happen.

Sneak peak at Tim

NEXT time you pop into Mountain Warehouse, keep your eyes peeled for Timothee Chalamet.

The Hollywood actor has outed himself as a secret hiking fan after revealing he’s spent the past couple of weeks walking through the mountains in north-eastern Italy.

Timmie left his girlfriend Kylie Jenner at home and took his journalist dad Marc on the jaunt.

It’s a wise move. I can’t imagine the reality star’s trademark six-inch heels are cut out for the steep inclines.

ADELE TO PARTY WITH TRAITORS

15

SHE’S on the countdown to her 40th birthday and I am told Adele is going all out for the bash, which is a Traitors-themed do at a Scottish castle.

Insiders told me party-planners were currently scouting out locations across the Highlands in a bid to secure it well in advance of the big celebration in May 2028.

A source said: “Adele absolutely loves to throw a good party and she is going big for her 40th.

“The dream would be to have the party at Ardross Castle where the Traitors is filmed, but it depends whether the BBC will be booking it out for two more years, as it’s already shut off this year and next. Obviously her best friend Alan Carr owns his own castle in the Highlands now too, so that’s on the list of locations.

“The party planning is in the very early stages and at the moment, the locations are just being pulled together for Adele to make a decision.”

Adele will be getting the celebrations started early, as she’s preparing to make her acting debut later this year in Tom Ford’s new movie Cry To Heaven.

The film is set to be released in autumn and we exclusively revealed she had been working on new music for it too.

I’d love to be a fly on the wall at her birthday bash . . .

Carly’s brought to book

CARLY RAE JEPSEN has revealed she was kicked out of her book club – for telling inappropriate jokes.

The pop star, whose eighth album Day And Night is out on Friday, confessed she repeatedly mocked the romance novel she was reading with the group, which led to her fellow members getting annoyed and removing her.

Carly told the Las Culturistas podcast: “I got kicked out of a book club

“You know the type of book where it’s kind of a romance, fantasy, fairy – romantasy?

“All this anticipation is coming, she’s finally gonna get with the guy, and then he has wings, or scales or claws.

“I wanted to get it, I didn’t get it. I made some insensitive jokes.

“So my jokes don’t land. I really got kicked out.”

SIENNA SPIRO’s Great Expectation has been knocked off the top spot since Friday.

The US singer has dropped to No2, after being overtaken by summer hit Movin’ To The Sun by Hugel, Imael Angel and Ultra Nate.

Sienna can still look on the bright side as her song Die On This Hill has broken into the top ten and is at No9.

TATT’S ENOUGH FOR KELLY

KELLY OSBOURNE is learning the perils of modern dating following her split from Slipknot rocker fiancé Sid Wilson.

I spotted her getting cosy with tattoo artist Ugly North at Bon Jovi’s concert earlier this month.

But Kelly has now blocked him on Instagram after several women warned her off him.

She said: “I want to thank all the girlie girls who had my back and cared enough to bring the truth to my attention. I feel more than a little foolish . . . apparently I should’ve done my homework. I also have to look inward and ask myself why I keep leaving the door unlocked for vampires disguised as charm.”

I’d stock up on garlic and get off dating apps for a while, Kelly.

CHAKA KHAN brought some girl power to the stage at Radio 2 In The Park as she belted out her 1978 hit I’m Every Woman with Alexandra Burke.

X Factor winner Alex is currently playing the soul legend in a West End musical about her life and the duet invitation was a thumbs-up from Chaka.

A source said: “Chaka loves what Alexandra has done with the musical and wanted her up on stage with her.

“It was one of the best performances of the weekend and the crowd absolutely loved it.”

Meanwhile, Sharleen Spiteri gave Texas fans a real treat at the BBC’s three-day outdoor music festival in Stirling.
