SEVEN children have been injured at a fairground after a flying chair ride collapsed.
What began as an evening of fun in El Callao, Venezuela, ended in sheer terror for dozens of families.

Around 10.20pm on Saturday, the flying chairs collapsed mid-ride, injuring at least seven children.
Footage from the incident captures a chaotic scene of panic after the malfunction, showing desperate bystanders rushing to lift the wreckage to get to the children.
While the severity of the children’s injuries is not known at this stage, authorities have said they all were injured with “cuts and bruises”.
The stricken children were rushed to hospital.

According to preliminary reports, a failure in the rotating shaft or in the central metal base caused the structure to detach and violently projecting the children towards the ground.
Following the incident the park was immediately closed and an investigation was launched into the fault.
Experts will inspect the equipment to find out if the collapse was caused by poor maintenance, worn-out materials, or faulty assembly.
The investigation will determine if anyone is legally or even criminally responsible for the accident.

It comes following a string of malfunctioning ride incidents across the world.
In May a similar swing ride failed, sending five people into hospital – including two teens.
Spectators watched as the entire ride hit the hard floor and flung passengers onto the solid ground in India.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene and rushed the injured victims – one who was in a critical condition – to nearby hospitals.
In a similar incident in April, a fairground ride suddenly collapsed as crucial cables suddenly snapped.
The malfunction in southern Brazil left 11 people injured, including one person who suffered a fractured vertebra.
Dramatic video — taken by a passenger on the ride — captured the exact second the cables snap in the horror malfunction which left 11 people injured.
