Physical 100: Italy, Netflix, streaming now

First, there was Physical 100 seasons one and two, both of which boasted Korean contestants. Then, for season three, they mixed it up with Physical Asia, which turned out to be quite the romp, featuring teams from Turkey, Japan, Mongolia, Thailand, Australia, Philippines, and Indonesia, as well as some familiar faces from the previous Korean seasons. And now, the latest incarnation of this format isn’t Physical Europe, as one might expect… Sure, the Romans were responsible for the Colosseum, so maybe that’s why Italy are the lone nation this season – but have they got the required level of crippling self-deprecation of their Korean counterparts to make this fourth series work? Moreover, given a couple seems to be among the 100 contestants, I fear the love element being shoehorned in, which frankly undercuts the format’s focus. Regardless, one hundred Italian athletes will face brutal physical challenges, each battling to outlast the rest. Will it be as good as its predecessors? The jury will be out on that one as it’s released episodically over four weeks.

A cocaine-addicted father tries to avoid jail time by attending therapy, but his chaotic life and dysfunctional family make it tricky to stay clean… Unsurprisingly, the lead comes courtesy of Danny F-ING Dyer. For something entirely different, there’s a little pocket of joy in the form of LEGO animation, Piece By Piece, exploring the life of Pharrell Williams, would you believe.

A Love Other Than Yours

K-Drama alert. A decade into their relationship, Ho is ready for marriage while Mi‑do, strained by her work, finds herself drawn to someone new. As their bond weakens, they’re forced to decide whether to commit or walk toward a different kind of love.

An expectant father digs into the world of AI, speaking with industry leaders to understand what it might mean for his child’s future – and for everyone else. The film, The AI Doc or How I Became an Apocaloptimist, unfolds through a narrator’s reflections, which is quite the delightful throwback to documentary-making.

FINALLY, Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan are highlighting all inhumane actions a female has to offer. The Emmy-winning anthology series returns with its fourth installment following the series’ debut female “monster”, Lizzie Borden, who murdered her parents in (wait for it) 1892. For more killing, Prime Video continues its foray into true crime with The Fitbit Killer, which lands Tuesday.
