A Status Yellow Rain warning for two counties has been cancelled by Met Éireann.
The warning for Cork and Kerry was in place from 9am on Saturday and was supposed to last until 9pm. However, it was cancelled at 12.30pm.
It will be a wet start to the weekend for people with Met Éireann warning of potential localised flooding, difficult travelling conditions, lightning damage and outdoor events being impacted.
A Status Orange rain warning that was in effect for three counties overnight with flooding possible ended earlier this morning.
The warning for Donegal, Galway and Mayo, which was in place between 1am and 7am, ended shortly after 6am this morning.
A Status Yellow rain warning for Clare was in place until 8am on Saturday.
Met Éireann said there will be a spell of persistent rain, turning heavy at times.
It comes as there will be a mix of rain and wind amid “mixed” weather conditions this weekend before a dip in temperatures next week, Met Éireann has said.
The “changeable” weather fortunes will bring “dry and bright” spells accompanied by intermittent showers and chillier temperatures expected from Tuesday onwards.
The amalgamation of dry and wet weather is caused by low pressure in the north and high pressure in the south of the country, leading to breezy showers and calmer periods.
Saturday will see more mild daytime temperatures when morning rain will be mostly confined to the south. Temperatures will fall between 16C and 21C, dropping to between 9C and 13C with a mostly dry night in store.
Sunday is forecast to be dry in most areas, although cloudy, with sunny spells emerging throughout. Temperatures will range from 16C and 21C, dipping to 12C to 14C in the night as rain increases overnight in western coastal counties.
A “wet and breezy” start to the week is predicted on Monday with widespread showers, heavy in parts, and sunny spells in parts. Temperatures will be between 17C and 21C.
Temperatures will began to fall on Tuesday, ranging from 14C and 18C amid rain in the west and north.
