The Manchester United legends were treated to an exciting 90 minutes of EFL action.
Salford took an early lead through Ryan Gordon before Joe Powell doubled up in the 31st minute.
The hosts quickly hit back to level the match as Brandon Cover and former Wrexham ace Paul Mullin both found the net.
Ossama Ashley put Rotherham ahead ten minutes into the second half before Macaulay Langstaff converted from the spot to make the score 3-3.

Salford came agonisingly close to promotion to League One last term but lost to Notts County in the play-off final.
The club has returned to its famous orange shirt to the delight of fans, hired a new manager and led a revamp of their 5,108-seater stadium.
Moor Lane has had its name changed to the AIG Stadium, with a new paint job to match the club’s orange and black colours.
The crest has also been updated.

Salford are also renovating their Littleton Road training ground, which is owned by United.
Peter Cklamovski was hired as the successor to Karl Robinson during the summer.
However, this season the Ammies have won two of six league games, leaving them 15th.
They continue their season with the visit of Swindon Town on September 19.
