Rotterdam Dockers moved to within two points of ETPL leaders Edinburgh Castle Rockers after cruising to a seven-wicket victory over Belfast Wolves at Malahide.
Chasing 162 for victory, Rotterdam reached their target in just 18 overs, finishing on 162 for three with 12 balls to spare.
The result lifts the Dockers to 11 points, with unbeaten Edinburgh still leading the way on 13, while Belfast remain on nine points and firmly in contention near the top of the table.
Belfast were put in to bat first and posted 161 for six from their 20 overs, with Lorcan Tucker and the hero from Thursday’s win over Amsterdam, David Miller, providing the bulk of the runs.
Tucker led the way with a composed 58, anchoring the Wolves’ innings and providing the platform to build a competitive total. Miller continued his impressive contribution during the Malahide leg of the tournament with 40, while Harry Manenti added 24 as Belfast maintained a steady scoring rate.
But Rotterdam provided an emphatic response.
Michael Levitt set the tone at the top of the order with a valuable 44, giving the Dockers the ideal platform in their pursuit. Captain Faf du Plessis then added 31, keeping the required rate comfortably under control.
The decisive contribution, though, came from Heinrich Klaasen. The Rotterdam wicketkeeper-batter produced an unbeaten 47 to take charge during the middle and latter stages of the chase, ensuring Belfast were unable to turn their three wickets into any sustained pressure.
Klaasen was joined by Shubham Ranjane, who finished unbeaten on 29, the pair seeing Rotterdam home with two overs remaining in a convincing all-round display from the Dockers.
Edinburgh Castle Rockers remain top of the table on 13 points, but Rotterdam’s latest success moves them to 11, with just two points between the sides. Belfast, meanwhile, stay within striking distance on nine points.
