I’M A CELEBRITY anchors Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have finally addressed fan requests for a civilian version of the series after huge demand.
Every year, a slew of famous faces battle bugs Down Under, but loyal ITV viewers have long been eager for your average Joe to take part instead.

Previously, The Sun revealed the secrets behind the I’m A Celeb camp including its annual trial run, and the presenters spilled the beans further in their new podcast.
On their podcast Hanging Out With Ant And Dec, they addressed a question which read: “Would you ever do a version of I’m A Celeb with random members of the public?”
Dec then joked: “I’m a civilian, get me out of here!”
Ant then confessed: “We get asked this a lot and we would love to do it”.

Dec interjected: “I think it would be great!”
Ant continued: “We would absolutely love to host that show because I think – and they can’t be random.
“We obviously need to know who they are, they can’t like wander in.
“But we would cast it really well”.

He added: “On I’m A Celebrity you don’t always know the celebrities and part of the joy is getting to know them, night after night after night, and then end up liking or loathing them at the end.
“So with I’m A Civilian Get Me Out Of Here you won’t know anything about anyone and you’ll just get to know the, all, like you do in Big Brother, and you’ll have your favourites by the end of it.
“I think we should definitely do a version of it one year”.
Dec continued to let slip show secrets and said: “We do do it a little bit when we do the dry runs”.
In these, brave Australians are hired to spend three days pretending to be the celebrities the week before the show goes live.
This is to make sure everything on the camp is in working order and they even do trials and eat the same food – just like it’s the real thing.
Dec told that “about 10 Australian people” got involved “for three or four days”.
He added: “They are always really interesting”.
Ant said: “Yeah and they go a bit mad, it’s only three days and it’s their country!”
Fans on TikTok were hugely on board with the idea and one wrote: “If they did an I’m a civilian I would 100 per cent apply, I probably wouldn’t be good but I’d give it a go”.
A second put: “I would definitely do it, but please don’t let big influencers on there”.
A third mused: “I think it would be funnier with civis!”
