MCDONALD’S has confirmed it’s axed a beloved item, leaving customers heartbroken.

The popular treat was launched nearly 10 years ago, but has now been permanently removed from menus.

The Toffee Latte, which comes with coffee, blended with a sweet toffee syrup and topped with cream, exited restaurants at the start of this month.

According to a note posted on McDonald’s website, the drink left menus on September 7, along with the Chocolate Honeycomb Frappé and Candy Floss Frappé.

“Probably the last remaining reason to visit McDonalds gone,” one customer said.

“NOOOOOOO!! Outrageous,” said another.

“For goodness sake is that even legal,” another moaned.

A McDonald’s spokesperson told The Sun: “We’re always evolving our menu with customers in mind, keeping it fresh and exciting.

“That’s why, as part of our McCafé relaunch, customers can now enjoy a new lighter McCafé coffee roast, made with 100% Arabica beans, as well as new Salted Caramel and Vanilla syrups to add a little extra sweetness to their cup.
