THIS is the horrifying moment a sick leopard savagely attacked a forest guard after breaking out of its cage.
The ailing animal suddenly burst open the cage door and lunged at 57-year-old Buddhijung Gurung in the Lamjung District in central Nepal.

Footage shows the worker scrambling with the leopard as it continued to maul him while a colleague attempted to hit it with a rod on September 10.
Bystanders could be heard shouting as the enraged beast finally breaks away from him.
As people fled the area, the leopard knocked over a motorcycle which momentarily pinned the animal down.
Buddhijing suffered injuries to his left hand and face and was rushed to the Provincial Hospital in Besisahar for treatment, according to cops.

The footage before the attack shows a leopard locked in a small cage on top of a small truck after it was rescued near the Dhung Khola area.
It had been tranquilised after they found it in a sickly condition near Dhung Khola in the Besisahar Municpality, earlier in that afternoon.
It was scheduled to be transferred to a wildlife rescue centre for treatment.

Two men are seen lifting the cage from the vehicle before they moved it to another larger enclosure.
Later, the predator is seen roaming around the forest office and climbing up a pillar.
The staff used cages and barriers in order to contain it before causing any more harm.
The presence of the animal sparked fear among local residents in the nearby Besisahar market area.
The police were deployed around the forest office and ordered staff to stay inside when the leopard went on a rampage.
