Popular retailers have issued an urgent recall for batches of the Love to Dream Sleep Machines due to its lithium-ion battery presenting a severe overheating hazard.

When the machine was charged using third-party devices, it was found to overheat to the extent of creating a fire hazard, creating a risk of severe burns and property damage.

As a result, machines sold between January 2, 2025 and September 3, 2026, and displaying the codes 7T12TN, 7W15TN and 8P01TN, have been recalled from end users by the manufacturers.

The affected batches have also been pulled in a number of major retailers, including Boots, Harrods, John Lewis and Partners, Currys and Mamas & Papas.

Love to Dream’s Sleep Machine is described as a portable white noise sound machine with a night light, catered to parents hoping to help their babies develop healthy sleeping habits.

Retailing for £45 in Boots, the machine is part of the brand’s larger range of sleep products for babies, toddlers and children, including babygrows, swaddles and pyjamas.

Love to Dream has urged buyers to stop using the machine immediately, unplug it from any charger and store it away from anything flammable.

Then, customers should see if the ‘date code’, displayed on the side of the unit or on the box, matches the affected batches.

If your machine is impacted, use a permanent marker to write ‘RECALLED’ and today’s date on the side – then, take a photo of the whole unit and the date code.

Once these steps are followed and the images are sent to Love to Dream, the brand will either give you a full refund, a free replacement Sleep Machine, or a store credit.

After this, customers have been advised to dispose of the machine in line with local requirements for electricals containing batteries, and to not put it in a bin at home.

Love to Dream has reminded buyers that any products that do not include the specific date code are not impacted by this recall, and are safe to use.
