“Mum and Dad will always miss you.”

No official cause of death has been confirmed but a person close to the case claimed she had a heart attack.

Chen often spoke about the brutal pressure creators face to devour monstrous amounts of food in an effort to boost views.

Regrettably, she also talked about the physical toll mukbangs were taking on her body.

Her Kuaishou page has since been taken down.

Dr Chai Qichen, of Zhejiang Hospital’s general practice department, warned that mukbang creators often purge after filming.

Her death is part of a wider trend of extreme eating creators who have faced serious health problems.

In July 2024, Chinese creator Pan Xiaoting, also 24, reportedly passed away during a livestream after participating in prolonged mukbang sessions.

Reports described her spending hours eating extremely large amounts of food.
