STADE RENNAIS have been forced to stay in Slovenia ahead of their Europa League clash against Austrian side Sturm Graz due to a lack of hotel rooms.
The French outfit travel to Austria next week for the opening match of their European campaign.
The team were due to book accommodation in the Austrian city of Graz just days before the game on September 16.
But according to French outlet L’Equipe, Rennais’ plans have been thrown into chaos after having difficulty finding a hotel nearby.
The situation has been caused by the MotoGP Grand Prix in Spielberg, which is just 75km away from the city.
And club chiefs have now decided to stay in a totally different country.

Rennais will stay in Maribor, Slovenia, which is only an hour’s drive away from Graz.
The team are set to be in Slovenia for three days before travelling just 69km to their European clash.
Rennais are then expected to fly back to Lyon for their next Ligue 1 game on September 19.
It wil be their first time in Slovenia since they beat NS Mura in the UEFA Conference League in 2021.

Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk have been forced to change stadiums entirely for their Champions League campaign this season amid their country’s conflict with Russia.
Donestk are playing all their home games at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge instead of their usual Donbas Arena.
They have been unable to play at their home ground since Russia’s invasion in 2022.
