Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) fate hangs in the balance in Emmerdale following Sarah Sugden’s (Katie Hill) revenge scheme that put her behind bars – and there is only one person who can save her now.

Sarah, as viewers know, saw red after learning the truth about baby Leyla’s parentage and sought revenge on Charity, altering her statement on Dr Todd’s (Caroline Harker) death – a crime she carried out – in a bid to incriminate her gran.

Mackenzie Bond (Lawrence Robb) was livid with Sarah’s horrific move and attempted to get her to change her story, making it quite clear he’d enlighten Jacob Sugden (Joe-Warren Plant) about Leyla’s parentage if she failed to do so.

Charity urged her husband to reconsider his current plan, hoping Sarah would see sense and withdraw her statement of her own accord.

Instead, she tasked him with giving Cain (Jeff Hordley) her St Christopher medal, which left the patriarch of the Dingle clan knowing what he must do.

Elsewhere, Sadie King’s (Patsy Kensit) wrongdoings were uncovered by Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley), who offered to help her locate Jimmy’s (Nick Miles) missing money in exchange for half of it, with the former flames shaking on it.

With Cain having told Charity previously to return the St Christopher medal should she require his help, the Dingle legend wastes little time in swooping into action after Mack hands it over on his wife’s request.

Knowing exactly what he must do, he pays Charity a visit at the prison to find out what she needs and how he can help.

Charity, however, leaves Cain in complete and utter shock.

The question is: just what has she said? Has she told him the truth about Leyla’s parentage – and how Sarah is the one to blame for why she’s behind bars?

If so, will Cain honour his word and help her out? If anyone can get through to Sarah, it’s her beloved ‘grumpy’ so fingers crossed this is exactly how this will play out.

Elsewhere in the village tomorrow, Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) is still struggling – financially and emotionally – without the lack of funds from the haulage sale. But will she come to realise that Sadie cannot be trusted?

What’s more, will Sadie and Robert have any sort of breakthrough in their quest for the missing cash?

Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), meanwhile, is still struggling following Dawn Taylor’s (Olivia Bromley) demise.

But with him having shocked Kim (Claire king) with his decision to put his newborn baby up for adoption, will he have a change of heart?
