AS Autumn comes along, the change in sunlight is noticeable, with shorter days.
Here, we tell you when you can expect the sun to start setting before 5pm.
When will the sun set before 5pm?
For most of the UK, the sun will begin to set before 5pm on October 25.
This is also the exact date of when the clocks go back.
This is one day earlier than the 2025 date of October 26.
In London the sun will set at roughly 4.46pm.
This does depend on where you are based in the country though.
For example, in Lowestoft, one of the most easterly points in the country, will see the sun dipping below the horizon at around 4.37pm.
However, some of the most westerly areas of Northern Ireland, a pre-5pm sunset won’t arrive until October 30.
At the moment in London, the sun starts setting at around 7.30pm, though as Autumn progresses, sunsets will continue to get earlier and earlier.

This does however mean that daylight will come along earlier in the day, with sun rise happening at around 7am across the UK.
