TRIBUTES have been paid to a “beautiful” woman who died after being hit by a taxi on a carriageway as the driver was arrested.
Isobel Reyland, 26, was rushed to hospital for treatment on September 2 but tragically passed away.
Emergency services scrambled to the scene in Aigburth, Merseyside, just before 5.40pm after reports of a collision involving a white Toyota Voxy private hire taxi and a pedestrian.
Isobel, from South Wales, sadly died from her injuries shortly after the horror crash.
The driver of the taxi, a 41-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving while under the influence of drugs.
He has since been released under investigation.

Isobel’s family said: “Izzy was a loving and deeply loved daughter, sister, aunty, granddaughter, niece, cousin and sister-in-law who was tragically taken from us far too soon and will be missed beyond words, always.
“She was a beautiful, caring, funny and loving young lady who was following her dreams and her chosen career in a city she loved and living her life to the fullest.
“We are totally devastated and utterly heartbroken as a family at the loss of our darling Izzy.
“Izzy – you will always be with us and our deepest love for you is everlasting.”
