A STUDENT accused of stabbing three young boys on their way to nursery allegedly asked ChatGPT where to find children in his city.
Chinese university student, Han L, 24, is charged with multiple counts of attempted murder after allegedly attacking the children with a kitchen knife.
Han asked an AI chatbot where he could meet children in of Zurich, Switzerland just 13 days before the alleged stabbings, court documents obtained by Blick claim.
Prosecutors say the alleged attack on October 1, 2024, was callously and meticulously planned.
Court docs also claim the suspect had previously asked about the “legal consequences of various ways of killing random victims by stabbing”.
Han arrived in Europe in 2023 to pursue his master’s degree at the University of Zurich.

His neighbors described him as quiet and reserved when quizzed.
One of them said: “The only sign of life I could hear from his apartment was the exotic scent when he was cooking.”
But according to the indictment, Han was unhappy with his new European life and was feeling “disrespected”.
By early August 2024, he had allegedly already started drawing up plans to kill someone, prosecutors argue.

Han allegedly stabbed the three young children while they walked to their daycare centre.
He had left his apartment with two kitchen knives, according to court documents.
He is accused of chasing down a group of children and attacking them using an 8.5-centimetre-long blade.
Three five-year-old boys were injured.
One was rushed to the hospital with serious damage to his collarbone, neck, and shoulder.
Another barely survived two stab wounds to the chest, and the third was treated for injuries to his ear and lung.
Han was arrested at the scene.
Court documents also reveal how Han had bought a quantity of beef the day before the attack, allegedly to practise his stabbing and slashing techniques.

The public prosecutor said: “On September 28, he studied anatomical depictions of the human head, neck and upper body as well as the blood vessels via ‘Google‘ and ‘ChatGPT‘ with a view to their killing.”
The prosecution say he acted out of “pure vindictiveness, a thirst for recognition, and ideological blindness” and demand a 15-year prison sentence.

After his arrest Han reportedly offered a confession and since April 2025, has been jailed in the Pöschwies correctional facility.
His trial will take place on Thursday, September 17, at the Zurich District Court.
