JAMIE CARRAGHER poked fun at himself after he avoided bankruptcy over an “unpaid tax” bill.
The Liverpool legend faced a High Court petition from the taxman after failing to pay a bill reportedly between £700,000 and £800,00.

Carragher, 48, was filed with the case in August which his representatives have since insisted that the matter had been settled.
A judge would have declared him bankrupt had the matter not been resolved.
Carragher returned to screens on Tuesday evening for CBS Sports to cover the Champions League.
The show is known for its jokes at pundits such as Carragher, Thierry Henry and Micah Richards.

And the retired defender did not escape some ridicule from host Kate Scott.
She said: “A busy hot summer can be taxing. Not for this man, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.
“A man whose career stats are more depleted than Jamie’s bank account.”

He took the jibe in good spirits and was able to see the funny side in the studio.
He interrupted Scott’s joke and suggested that the HMRC bankruptcy petition had been taken care of.
He said: “All paid. All done.”
Carragher later poked fun at himself when speaking about LaLiga giant Barcelona‘s chances of success in this year’s Champions League.
He said: “I think it is about time Barcelona back in terms of competing where they should be.
“One of the biggest clubs in the world, one of the most famous teams.”
“They’ve already had financial problems haven’t they? Haven’t we all.”

To which Richards and Scott could be seen bursting into laughter at their fellow panel member.
Carragher is thought to rake in more than £1million a year from TV punditry work.
He also does podcasts and is director of four firms.
Carragher’s spokesman told business newspaper City AM: “This is a private tax matter that should have been resolved sooner, and the appropriate steps are being taken today to settle it.
“It is understood that the matter will not proceed any further and will be resolved imminently.”
HMRC said it could not comment on Carragher’s finances.
