HUNDREDS of fans were left heartbroken after being denied access to a major UK gig – despite some having paid more than £500 for tickets.
The ticket reseller has been forced to apologise after some teenagers were left in tears.
Children who were under 16-years-old were denied entry to Katseye’s show at the Co-op Live in Manchester on Sunday as the venue imposes age restrictions in the standing area.
Many who purchased tickets through third party sellers said there was no information during the booking process to indicate there would be age restrictions in place for standing tickets.
One mum paid £568 for four tickets through third-party seller Hellotickets to take her daughters to their first concert.
She said she tried to buy the tickets directly but they were snapped up within hours, forcing her to buy through the third-party seller.

“We had to go through a third party, Hellotickets, and we thought, ‘Well, we’ll pay a little bit more because it’s the girls’ first concert’,” she told the Manchester Evening News.
She said at no point during the sale did the site indicate there was an age restriction on standing tickets.
The mum said around 500 people were outside the Co-op Live ticket office trying to resolve similar issues while her youngest daughter was left “crying all the way home”.
A Hellotickets spokesperson told the newspaper: “We gave customers incorrect information about the age restrictions for standing tickets at KATSEYE’s Manchester concert.

“We said that under-16s could attend with an adult, but under-16s were not permitted in the standing area, even when accompanied.
“This was our mistake, and we are sorry to the young fans and families who were turned away.
“We have refunded the affected bookings in full, including all fees. We have also offered affected customers credit towards a future booking equal to the original purchase amount, in addition to their refund. We know this cannot make up for missing a concert they were looking forward to.
“We provide age-restriction notices to inform customers about entry requirements. In this case, we failed to distinguish correctly between the requirements for seated and standing tickets.”
