THERE’S been something of a storm in a tea cup at the BBC over Richard Osman claiming The Celebrity Traitors would launch on September 23.
That’s because that is NOT when the show will be starting.

Which is infuriating for the Traitors team who want to do a big reveal for the second series of the spin-off – one that would leave everyone in no doubt as to when things would kick off.
Now the opposite is the case.
Though the Beeb have yet to confirm anything, it will be LATER than September 23, possibly at the end of this month, or into October.
An insider said: “There was huge frustration when Richard wrongly announced the date, and everyone involved were blindsided and confused as to where he got that from.

“He even sent a text to the BBC’s Head of Content Kate Philips to apologise for the cock-up, which is not a scenario which happens very often.
“Making it worse is the fact that so many people assumed that if Richard said it, then it was probably correct. After all he’s a BBC star, and former telly executive who’s well placed to uncover these bits of information.
“Except he got it wrong.”
He revealed the date during a live edition of The Rest Is Entertainment podcast, which he hosts with the journalist Marina Hyde, at London’s Southbank Centre on Saturday.

Richard and Marina were joined by a special guest, the former Celebrity Traitors finalist Joe Marler, who when speaking about the advice he would give new contestants, said: “What is it, September 23, the next series?”
Richard then confirmed: “By the way, to point out, it’s absolutely embargoed that it starts on September 23.”
Jeff is comedy gold

SATURDAY Night Live UK is bringing out the big guns to kick off series two – with Hollywood’s Jeff Goldblum hosting its premiere this weekend.
And the Jurassic Park actor wasted no time getting to work on the live comedy sketch show, offering some advice to its newest comic, Freddie Meredith.
In a funny teaser for Saturday’s episode, Jeff tells Freddie: “If ever I’m a little nervous, do you know what I say to myself? ‘I am Jeff Goldblum’.”
But it doesn’t quite work when Freddie says it to his new colleagues.
“He’s snapped already,” says fellow comic Al Nash.
Irish singer CMAT will perform on the night.

Tartt’s fruity return

HUNKY striker Jamie Tartt made a surprise return to the fourth outing of hit series Ted Lasso this week.
Having swapped AFC Richmond for FC Barcelona, the football heartthrob (Phil Dunster) is at a New Year’s Eve bash to launch his business sideline, Apple Tartt Vodka , in the Apple TV show.
He turns up in just flesh-coloured pants adorned with a leaf to hide his modesty.
Reunited with club owner Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham), PR star Keeley (Juno Temple) and coach Ted (Jason Sudeikis), Jamie tells his pals he misses Richmond.
But the party ends in a hospital trip for Roy after he dances excitedly to House of Pain’s 1992 hit Jump Around.
Hayley’s a treasure

THERE will be swashbuckling adventure on the high seas as classic tale Treasure Island comes to screens.
In this first look at the Paramount+ six-parter, Marvel and Mission: Impossible favourite Hayley Atwell enjoys another action-packed outing, this time as determined mother Bess Hawkins.
She’ll be joined by fellow Hollywood heavy-weight David Oyelowo as pirate Long John Silver and Great Expectations’ Tom Sweet as her son Jim.
In Robert Louis Stevenson’s famous story, Bess and Jim are swept into a brutal race for unimaginable riches when they come into possession of Captain Flint’s legendary treasure map.
Crossing the Atlantic aboard the Hispaniola, Jim enters a world of shifting loyalties, ruthless ambition and deadly secrets, where trust can be as dangerous as betrayal.
Jack Huston and Tomer Capone also star. The series drops on October 12.

Dolly Parton At Glastonbury 2014 kicks things off at 9.15pm, Sisters In Country: Dolly, Linda And Emmylou is at 10.25pm and Dolly Parton At The BBC is at 11.25pm. All shows will be on iPlayer.
EXPECT a few changes when Graham Norton’s BBC One chat show returns for its 34th series on September 25.
