The program extends the MyMedi.ca platform beyond traditional medical cannabis and referral channels and is intended to support hospitals, specialty clinics, multidisciplinary healthcare networks, insurers and other healthcare organizations seeking to incorporate structured medical cannabis pathways into their existing models of care. The Program extends access to a focused medical cannabis formulary, pharmacist-led patient support, healthcare provider (HCP) treatment planning and education as well as reimbursement and insurance.

Medical cannabis use in Canada extends well beyond patients in the federally regulated medical access framework, with Health Canada’s 2024 Canadian Cannabis Survey reporting that only 18% of Canadians using cannabis for medical purposes did so with a medical document from a healthcare professional.
