Blanche d’Alpuget, journalist, author and widow of late prime minister Bob Hawke has died aged 82, the ABC has reported.
Her family announced d’Alpuget’s death on Wednesday morning, the broadcaster reported, and shared a final message from her.
“Our highest calling and greatest achievement is love, the rule of life. Love one another,” d’Alpuget said.
She was an acclaimed author of biographies, novels and essays, and won the New South Wales Premier’s Award for her political biography about her late husband Bob Hawke.
