A DOZEN left-wing political figures have been barred from Israel after the country imposed retaliatory sanctions on Britain.
It follows the UK’s ban of imports from illegal West Bank settlements and Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband’s accusation that some settlers were guilty of “ethnic cleansing”.
Barred politicians include Jeremy Corbyn, Diane Abbott, Zarah Sultana, John McDonnell as well as all five Green Party MPs.
The Greens claimed to be “proud” of their MPs for “standing up for Palestinian rights”.
Israel also said it will close the British consulate in Jerusalem and eject UK officials from a Gaza support centre.
Other moves include ending British training of Palestinian Authority forces and banning London-based, pro-Hamas law firm boss Fahad Ansari from Israel.

Labour MPs Richard Burgon and Naz Shah have also been banned from the country.
A US backlash was also feared after Foreign Secretary Mr Miliband called settlers “terrorists”.
His claims were branded as lies by furious Israeli leaders after Labour announced an import ban on goods from illegal West Bank settlements.
Writing in today’s Sun, Tory leader Kemi Badenoch says Labour has thrown British Jews “under the bus . . . to win back Islamist votes”.

She adds: “At a time when Britain faces a serious terrorist threat, deliberately damaging relations with a country whose intelligence helps saves lives here in Britain is madness.”
Mr Miliband told MPs yesterday: “The British Government agrees that there is ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in areas of the West Bank — perpetrated by settler terrorists.
“All too often, the Israeli government has turned a blind eye to this and worse — members have made statements and taken actions to support the forced displacement of Palestinians.”
Mr Miliband said he is a “proud Jew” and added Israel had every right to defend itself after the October 7 terror attacks that killed 1,200, but announced a “reset” of relations.
