WYCOMBE have sacked boss Michael Duff just five games into the League One season.
Duff, 48, paid with his job following Saturday’s 3-3 draw with MK Dons and is the first EFL manager to be axed this term.

Wycombe are yet to win a match, having drawn three and lost two in the league.
The Chairboys were also dumped out of the Carabao Cup in the first round by Stevenage, and lost on penalties to Reading in the EFL Trophy.
Duff’s side had led 2-0 at half-time against MK Dons last weekend, only for a disastrous 10-minute spell before the hour mark seeing them go 3-2 down.
New boy Jayden Wareham levelled to earn them a point, but the draw was not enough to save Duff’s job – with first team coach Alex Morris also axed.

A club statement read: “Wycombe Wanderers have parted company with Head Coach Michael Duff and First-Team Coach Alex Morris.
“The club has made the decision in light of a disappointing run of results since the spring and believes the time is right to take a new direction.
“Everyone at the club would like to thank Michael and Alex for their hard work and contributions to Wycombe Wanderers and wish them every success for the future.
“The appointment of an interim Head Coach will follow later today.”

Sky Sports’ Mark McAdam reports that the decision to sack Duff was made by Wycombe chiefs on Monday night.
Players are then said to have been informed this morning.
Duff lasted just shy of a year as Wycombe boss, having taken over from Mike Dodds last September.
The Chairboys finished 11th last term, with ex-Northern Ireland star Duff having taken over with them in 19th.
Duff took charge of 52 matches in total as Wycombe manager; winning 20, drawing 13 and losing 19.
The Chairboys made several splashy signings during the summer, including the likes of Wareham, as well as Conor Hazard, Steve Cook and Cauley Woodrow.
Duff bemoaned his side’s collapse after Saturday’s 3-3 draw.
He said: “At half-time we showed them three clips of us passing the ball and the message was to keep doing it.
“We came out after the break and didn’t pass the ball once for eight minutes.
“Then suddenly it’s 3-2.”
Duff was yesterday charged with misconduct by the FA after being sent off against Sheffield Wednesday earlier this month.

The FA’s statement read: “Michael Duff has been charged for misconduct following Wycombe Wanderers’ EFL League One match against Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday September 1.
“It’s alleged that the manager used abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official at full-time, leading to his dismissal.”
