If Max Branning (Jake Wood) collapsing on his wedding day while clutching his chest in agony has left you desperate to find out what happens next in EastEnders, then you’ve come to the right place.
Being Walford’s resident lothario is stressful work, something which Max knows too well, given his penchant for destroying people’s marriages and blowing up families.
But this time around it’s his own wedding he’s risked scuppering as, just seconds before saying ‘I do’ to Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), he was faced with the prospect of his affair with Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) being exposed – by none other than ex Linda Carter (Kellie Bright).
Linda had declared her love for Max the night before he was due to walk down the aisle but she was appalled to learn of his fidelity with Priya and thus resolved to do something about it.
The former pub landlady didn’t go through with her plan to expose his scandalous affair to the wedding guests but she made clear that Max missed the boat with her after putting a ring on Cindy’s finger.
Max subsequently collapsed – just as he was seemingly about to call it quits with Cindy. And his health isn’t the only one fans are worried about after Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) fell into rubble and banged her head while stealing Charlie’s cab.
For a look ahead at what happens next, we’ve got you covered!
What happens next in EastEnders? New spoilers for Wednesday, September 9
Max’s life is on the line after he collapsed while delivering his wedding speech, during which it seemed as though he was about to call things off with Cindy – just hours after tying the knot – in favour of a potential future with Linda.
Everyone gasped and rushes towards Max in the wake of his collapse, but will he be okay?
With the flash-forward episode earlier in the year having already confirmed that he’s alive come New Year’s Day – and that he’s set to get married AGAIN – we know he pulls through, but just what has happened?
Has he had a heart attack due to the stress of trying to keep a lid on all his secrets?
And if so, just who will he choose to be with when he wakes up once more? What we can tell you is that the fallout continues in tomorrow’s episode so expect more shocks along the way.
Elsewhere, Kat Slater (Jesse Wallace) is left in shock to discover that Zoe made off with Charlie’s stolen cab and the situation escalates when the seller arrives.
With Zoe facing prison, Alfie (Shane Richie) and Kat find the funds to pay him off. An argument erupts between Kat and Zoe – just as Kat attempts to put on a brave face before Kim (Tameka Empson) and Howie’s (Delroy Atkinson) wedding congregation arrive.
Zoe tonight banged her head after a fall – and upcoming scenes will see her tragically die.
The Hawkins, meanwhile, continue to settle into the Square, with Ned (Jamie Bamber) and Gemma (Patricia Potter) attempting to acquaint themselves with Phil (Steve McFadden) and Sharon (Letitia Dean).
The moment, however, is interrupted when Kim reveals all about Jodie (Anna Constable) and Ryder’s (Felix Urr) behaviour at the community centre.
EastEnders airs these scenes Wednesday September 9 at 7:30pm on BBC One or stream from 6am on BBC iPlayer
