The worlds of Coronation Street and EastEnders have collided, and a gorgeous new friendship has been formed between Clair Norris and Ellie Leach.

Taking to Instagram, Clair posted a duo of stunning snaps of herself and Ellie as they worked together on a new theatre project.

‘One of the best things to come out a job is meeting this one’ she began the caption.

‘We met at the beginning of the year, thrown into a theatre job together… and somehow, two soap worlds collided and a friendship came out of it.

‘She’s genuinely one of the sweetest people I’ve met, and weirdly similar to me in so many ways. Same humour, same energy, and just that instant feeling of “oh, you get me.”

‘And honestly, in this crazy acting industry, it’s so rare to find someone you genuinely click with and who feels so easy to be around.’

Ellie, meanwhile, recently took to Instagram to detail her experience with smear testing, with an incredibly educational video.

Having had her results and discovering she was HPV positive and had high grade changes in her cells, Ellie detailed the process that followed, including a colposcopy procedure, a LLETZ procedure and the realisation that the smear test discovering her high-grade cells and their subsequent removal had potentially saved her from a much scarier diagnosis down the line.

She spoke of the importance of attending a smear test appointment: ‘If this has taught me anything – I mean I knew it was important anyway – it is so important to go for your smear test.

‘I know sometimes they can be uncomfortable.

‘I was absolutely fine during mine, but I am aware that like everyone’s different. I know that it affects people differently, but please, go for your smear test because they genuinely could save your life.

‘Obviously, if I hadn’t have gone for my first initial smear test, I would never have known that I had the pre-cancerous cells and now they’ve been removed. I feel so much better about it. Go for your smear test. Very important. Okay, love you, bye!’

Ellie appeared in Coronation Street as Faye Windass for 12 years, between 2011 and 2023, appearing in a number of hard-hitting storylines, initially becoming pregnant at just 12 years old, later experiencing early menopause at 20.

She was later raped by her boss, Ray Crosby, and spent a stint in prison after attacking Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), mistaking him for Ray.

Having given her baby, Miley, up to be raised by the dad, Jackson Hodge (Rhys Cadman and Joseph William Evans), they returned from Canada to reunite with Faye, who agreed to move to Slough with them.

Clair played Bernie Taylor for 8 years between 2017 and 2025, with her earliest storyline being a teenage pregnancy and a subsequent late-stage miscarriage.

She later struggled with her sexuality before coming out as a lesbian, acted as a surrogate for Rainie Cross and Stuart Highway (Tanya Franks and Ricky Champ), before becoming obsessed with unearthing the truth behind the murder of her brother, Keanu (Danny Walters).

She later fled the Square after stealing thousands of pounds from the Panesar business empire, leaving them on the verge of financial ruin.
