HARRY KANE remains the ODDS-ON favourite to win the Ballon d’Or this year.

The Bayern Munich and England superstar is priced at 4/7 with Betfair to win the coveted award and become the first Englishman since Michael Owen in 2001 to take the prize.

Kane, 33, scored a stunning 73 goals during the 2025/26 season for Bayern and England and carried that form into the World Cup, although the Three Lions ultimately fell short in north America.

He recorded a 13th-place finish in the Ballon d’Or standings last year and has never finished higher than 10th, but this could finally be the year he gets his hands on the prestigious award.

However, Kane faces serious competition from Spain’s World Cup winners, with Lamine Yamal and Rodri priced at 11/4 and 9/2 respectively.

Yamal has continued his sparkling form despite being just 19 and was an integral part of Spain’s World Cup triumph, while Rodri was voted the tournament’s best player and could become a two-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Kylian Mbappe is firmly in the mix at 6/1 following a stellar World Cup that saw him win the Golden Boot and become the competition’s all-time leading scorer.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is next at 7/1 after a huge cut from 33/1, ahead of Pau Cubarsi at 18/1.

Last year’s winner Ousmane Dembele and eight-time winner Lionel Messi are both 22/1 to land the prize, alongside Jude Bellingham, Michael Olise and Fabian Ruiz.

Betfair spokesperson, James Mackie said: “As the 2026 Ballon d’Or nominees are set to be announced today England captain and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane is the odds on 4/7 favourite to become the first Englishman since Michael Owen in 2001 to win the accolade.

“Spanish wonderkid Lamine Yamal is the 11/4 second favourite off the back of helping his nation take their first World Cup since 2010, with fellow countryman and 2024 Ballon d’Or winner Rodri 9/2 to scoop the award for a second time.

“Real Madrid’s main marksman Kylian Mbappe is fourth favourite at 6/1 to take his first Ballon d’Or, with last year’s winner Ousmane Dembele, and the greatest player to play the game Lionel Messi both 22/1.”
