Six Galway resource centres to receive grants for €10,000 to fund upgrades

Six Galway resource centres will soon be welcoming a €10,000 once-off grant to support community services.  

Under the 2026 Family Resource Centre Capital Fund, five facilities in County Galway and one in Galway City will receive a once-off payment of €10,000 to use on improvements and refurbishments to the resource space.

In the county, the resource centres are Brú Bhríde in Tuam, Gort Family Resource Centre, Loughrea Family Resource Centre, Solas Resource Centre in Headford, and Clann Resource Centre in Oughterard.

ARD Doughiska Family Resource Centre, in Galway City, will also receive funds.

The €60,000 investment to Galway resource centres comes under a national €1.36 million capital investment. This will support over 130 Family Resource Centres around the country.

“Family Resource Centres provide important supports to individuals and families in communities across Galway, and this funding will allow these four centres to make practical improvements to their facilities and services,” Galway East TD Sean Canney said.

“The €10,000 allocations can support improvements to premises, equipment, accessibility, ICT and other infrastructure.

“I want to acknowledge the staff and volunteers involved in each of the centres for the important work they do in supporting people in their local communities,” he added.
