Hollyoaks’ penchant for dropping jaws and leaving audiences in shock is in full flow once more, with one of the show’s most unexpected pairings to date confirmed in a brand new trailer.

Fresh off her release from prison, Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) returns to the eponymous village and it’s safe to say that she’s not welcomed back with open arms given how she treated Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin).

But a scene in the brand new trailer confirms a very unexpected romantic encounter on the cards for the much-loved show favourite – and it’s with Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard)!

Devastated over the loss of his beloved Diane (Alex Fletcher), Tony left the village for a little break with his loved ones – but he’s back home, and things soon heat up between he and Sienna!

Elsewhere, the mystery into Ste Hay’s (Kieron Richardson) vanishing continues, with James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) and Lucas (Oscar Curtis) among those under suspicion.

Ste’s vanishing

The search is on to locate Ste after he went missing at a shopping centre earlier this month. Everyone is a suspect but fingers are pointed at James, Lucas, Sienna and Gemma Johnson (Tisha Merry) in particular.

James professes his innocence, desperate to locate the man he loves, while Lucas is determined to prove that he’s turned over a new leaf and wants nothing to do with his dad – who slept with his partner Dillon earlier in the year.

However, with Leah Barnes (Charlotte Riley) ending up falling down the stairs after a showdown with Lucas, few believe him.

Sienna, meanwhile, is considered a suspect given her murder spree and treatment of Cleo while Gemma – whose descent into Hollyoaks’ criminal underworld is starting to unravel – is also questioned.

But where is Ste and who is to blame?

Dodger’s decision

Fed up of sneaking around, Cleo demands that Dodger make a decision about who he wants to be with… her or Theresa?

The trailer teases heartbreak for Theresa as Dodger leaves in the back of a taxi with Cleo – but is all as it seems? Has Dodger chosen Cleo? Just what does the future hold and will Sienna’s return to the village complicate matters further?

The truth about Cindy and Maddox

After months – and for her, years – of keeping the secret, Cindy is outed as the biological mother of Maddox after Dee Dee begins to piece it all together.

The news leaves Maddox reeling and, as he grapples with his new family tree, Beth is devastated. Will this lead to more conflict for Keanes, who already have enough on their plate?

Jonah’s actions exposed?

With Caleb’s health deteriorating, his and Frankie’s romance and travel future is up in the air, with conflict arising between the young couple.

Jonah has secretly been putting Caleb in harm’s way to prevent him from departing the village – but will the truth out? Can Caleb work out what’s going on?

Passion ignites all across the village

Sienna and Tony’s unexpected kiss comes out of nowhere but it’s not the only one, with Warren and Gemma locking lips once more – as do Mercedes and Jenson!

Elsewhere, following her fall, Imran rushes to be by Leah’s beside. But is there any hope of a reunion? Or does Imran’s heart lie elsewhere?

Abigail goes too far

Newcomer Abigail Matthews continues to take a special interest in Dee Dee at Hollyoaks High – and her inappropriate behaviour is set to escalate.

During a parent teacher meeting, Abigail assures Tony that Dee Dee needs to study more, in hopes of spending more time with the vulnerable student.

Teenage pregnancy?

In dramatic scenes in the trailer, Kathleen-Angel can be seen waiting nervously about the results of a pregnancy test, with Ant – who confesses his love for her -waiting outside.

The question is: what will the result be?

Hollyoaks streams Mondays to Wednesdays from 6am on Channel 4’s streaming platform, or catch episodes on TV at 7pm on E4.
