Ahead of GTA 6’s long awaited launch, Rockstar Games have announced exactly when the game will go live – and it’s going to require you staying up very late to play it.

It’s hard to believe GTA 6 will soon be a tangible video game you can actually play. The game was formally announced via a 2023 trailer and fans have mostly had to learn new details from leaks rather than Rockstar itself.

That’s no longer the case, though, as Rockstar has not only shared a release date and opened pre-orders for the game, but it’s shown real gameplay footage and confirmed all manner of new mechanics and additions.

Just to ensure you’re all caught up before the most anticipated game of all time arrives, we’ve compiled the most important info you need to know about GTA 6, including its release timing.

When time will GTA 6 be available from?

After a couple of delays, GTA 6 is locked in for a November 19 launch. According to the PlayStation Store, it’ll also be available from midnight on the dot, which we’re sure will prompt some people to stay up past midnight to play the game ASAP.

A quick check shows that the plan is to launch GTA 6 at midnight locally for reach region, meaning New Zealand will be the first to play it and thus inspire more ardent fans across the world to set up New Zealand accounts on PlayStation and Xbox.

If you’re willing to wait, though, then just be aware that gameplay footage and story details are bound to emerge online before GTA 6 is available in the UK.

How much does GTA 6 cost?

GTA 6 is priced at £69.99, although that’s only for the standard edition of the game. There is also an Ultimate Edition that costs £89.99 and includes the following exclusive pieces of content:

GTA 6 is only being sold digitally and there are currently no plans to release a physical version on a disc. You can buy a boxed version from a shop, but all it contains is a download code.

Is there a pre-order bonus for GTA 6?

Yes, if you pre-order GTA 6, you’ll receive a one month subscription to the GTA+ service (which only has benefits for GTA Online players but includes access to other Rockstar games such as GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption) as well as a Vintage City Pack that includes a ’55 Vapid Stanier, a Shore Court garage, exclusive outfits and hairstyles, and a weapon pattern inspired by a previous GTA protagonist, Tommy Vercetti.

Will GTA 6 be available on PC?

No, or at least not yet. GTA 6 is currently only scheduled for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, but a PC version is expected to arrive at a later date, probably sometime next year.

Will there be online multiplayer?

GTA 6 will only launch with a single-player mode, but an online mode is widely assumed to be in the works. Even if it wasn’t already rumoured, GTA Online makes far too much money for Rockstar not to offer a similar mode for GTA 6.

One thing we do know is that it won’t replace GTA Online, as Take-Two has said support for GTA Online will continue even after GTA 6 comes out.

An official announcement will likely be shared at some point after GTA 6’s launch, but it is commonly rumoured to allow for user generated content – in a similar vein to Fortnite and Roblox.
